Description of design
Sarah has created a sculptural three-dimensional pair of earrings which look stunning from every angle. Each piece comprises of two independently articulated sections all highlighted with grain set, clear or coloured diamonds. Created in highly polished platinum, the metal’s inherent natural reflective beauty enhances the earrings undulating curves.
Inspirations behind the piece
The 1920’s and 1930’s saw the emergence of a new confident woman – feminine, elegant and sophisticated. It was the age of jazz, of the flapper, and when the very concept of “modern” first came of age – and which found its ultimate expression in the screen idols and the goddesses of Hollywood’s golden age. The timeless legacy of the ‘Shimmy’ design taps into our cultural memories of that time, creating a fantasy of curving organic lines which evoke the ubiquitous presence of the femme fatale. The seductive sirens of today’s modern era are still the women that grace the red carpet, unique individuals that require a unique style made with no less than the most luxurious metal the world has to offer – platinum. About the designer
Sarah celebrates 25 years in business in 2012 having won many prestigious awards along the way. Her greatest passion remains in the design, concept and making of the jewellery. Of every single piece of the thousands that she has created over the years, the first master has always been hand carved by Sarah.
